After nearly 4 months of hosting service from Hostgator and the same time as an affiliate, I can honestly say that this is one of the better hosting services that I have ever used. Read on and discover why and how Hostgator proved to be a reliable web host …

The compliment of software included in the starter package (The Baby Plan) is very robust and offers most everything that one could want in a shared hosting service. Although I have yet to require it, Hostgator appears to offer a number of larger shared services as well as dedicated servers and reseller accounts allowing growth room for most any site or user needs. Currently their packages only allow for Linux hosting but they insist that their Windows platform hosting will be coming soon.

Best of all the customer service is quick and responsive when you have inquiries … everyone is very nice and willing to help. Hostgator’s customer support staff is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Customer support can be reached by phone, email, online chat, fax, and snail mail. The Peer support forum is nice to have also and they have the HostGator staff there checking in on the support thread that have tickets which is another plus.

So far my verifications have proven their uptime claims of 99.9% to be quite true. Despite the low prices, Hostgator provides quality hosting including many features, and excellent customer service and support. The simple format is actually appreciated by many customers, enabling them to navigate the site easily. The ordering process is simple, taking only about 5 minutes.

Hostgator accepts credit cards, debit cards and PayPal. I have now transferred over a number of domains registered elsewhere and have had them setup and ready to go in no time at all. I have managed to use a number of the included program installations on some of my sites including their included Site Builder application and a couple of their 4,500 included website templates to get started.
