A Safelist is a term that defines a site that has a group of marketers who join it, for the purpose of sending out their ads and offers, to other members of the group. You must subscribe to the service and agree to send and receive e-mails from one another.
To use a safelist, first of all you have to set up 2 e-mail addresses:
* Your contact e-mail to receive important messages and/or login info from the safelist admin
* Your list e-mail to receive e-mails of offers and services (ads) that the other members will be sending out (it is highly recommended that you do not use your contact e-mail for this)
Here are some of the places you can sign up for your free web-based e-mail address account to use as your list e-mail:
www.Yahoo.com
www.HotMail.com
www.MSN.com
www.MailPuppy.com
www.MbMail.com
Then you’ll have to start subscribing to your chosen safelists. I personally use TrafficHoopla for that. This service keeps a report of the best performing safelists of the week/month along to the best performing traffic exchanges. This way I know I am only subscribed with the best. If a new safelist or traffic exchange site pops up and makes it to the top in TrafficHoopla, you just have to register with it and keep your TrafficHoopla account updated by that. This way when you refer others to your TrafficHoopla’s referral link, you would be taking advantage of the credits these safelists and traffic exchanges give you, as bonuses, from your downline’s efforts.
Another service that also keeps a good list of safelists and traffic exchanges is Profitrally. Though it also keeps a list of online opportunities and other programs as well. It is a good downline builder, but I tend to prefer TraffiHoopla’s safelists updates because they are more reliable. You can view my post about Profitrally here.
In each safelist there is:
REGULAR MAILER:
This is the mailer in the safelist member center, which allows you to send out your ads ( to a specific no. of members, according to which safelist you are using). Each safelist is different in the frequency allowed for you to send your mails with the regular mailer….some once a day, others every 2 , 3 , 4 or only once a week.
Take note of each safelist’s timing, so you can keep yourself organized. You can keep a schedule for that.
CREDIT MAILER:
Safelists that use credit mailers are the most effective ones. Unlike the regular mailer, you can’t use this mailer unless you have credits. Most of the safelists usually give you some free credits when you first sign up. Also here you can choose the no. of credits you want to use (which usually translates to the no. of people you will be sending out your ads to).
You get credits by clicking special credits links, found in ads you receive from other members in your list- e-mail address.
Now, do safelists really work? Are they useful? I can assure you they can be very useful for beginners with low or no budget to start with. I also recommend you use these very important tips:
YOUR ADS:
Your ads could be short ads, or long ads, just like you are sending an e-mail to someone. Though it is always advisable to make them short, BUT ATTENTION GRABBING! One way to do that, is to use Ads that spike CURIOSIY… The description should make them wanna click your link to find out more… Don’t forget the title (The Subject of the E-mail)…It should be Luring…..
Also your ads could be normal text ads or html ads (html ads are ads that contain html script to allow the ads to be coloured or display pictures or banners). There is a separate html mailer, or you could use the same mailer but tick the small html box at the bottom). Note that not all safelists allow you to post html ads. But for those that allow, and if you know some html code for your ads, it is always better.
IMPORTANT: Make use of safelists…. never post one opportunity or program… you can add “P.S” at the bottom of your main ad. Those P.S. should be short and only contain a title and a link to a TOTALLY DIFFERENT opportunity/offer you want to promote. There could be P.S. at the bottom, followed by another P.S.2 and P.S.3……never limit yourself to one opportunity. Suppose the person who reads your mail is already enrolled in the main opportunity your mail talks about….you don’t want him to close your message…. he may find something interesting in your bottom notes (P.S.). I always put my full name at the bottom followed by my e-mail and telephone no. I know you may say I am risking filling my mail with spam from members, but this has a strong psychological effect that tells the reader that you are for real and sincere about your biz, and ready to help anytime.
Finally, always get your ads ready, regular text (and html if possible) for each offer you are promoting , so you can just copy and paste each time into the safelists mailers.
HTML Ads are better than regular text, and people tend to click on them more. If you don’t know about html, and want to learn about it, a very good site to check is www.htmlgoodies.com
Remember, you won’t find results with safelists in one day. It needs consistency and posting in a regular basis. That’s it for today…. I gotta go organize the **** out of my blog’s template.
