Traffic exchanges can be one of the most effective, free form of
advertising to someone who has just started out, and has no money to start with or just little budget.
A traffic exchange site is simply a place where you can register
with and join to view other members’ advertised webpages, in
exchange of having them viewing yours. Each traffic exchange has a
certain time counter (for eg. 20 seconds) by which you have to stay
in someone’s site viewing it, before they give you credits for your
visit. These credits are used to get your site viewed in the same
way, ie. the more websites you view, your credits balance
increases…and every time another member views your site for the
same period of time, your balance decreases.
There are two types of traffic exchanges: manual exchanges and autoexchanges. The manual traffic exchanges make sure that real humans are visiting your site, by having them click on a link to proceed to the next site. Auto exchanges are different in that you only set it and forget it,,,They will load you the sites one after the other without you having to click on a link. That means you can leave them running while you go your other work be it online or offline…maybe even sleep and letting them build your credits during night time, so you get loads of cr next morning. Another reason why you SHOULD NOT even venture in them, as you don’t want your site treated the same way.
Most traffic exchanges also give you special bonuses when you surf
for a specific amount of time or have certain no. of credits
accumulated. Also some of them require you to click on certain
numbers in order for you to proceed to the next site, for example
providing you with 5 different numbers and asking you to click on
the highest number. Some would also display certain images and ask you to click on a specific one in order to proceed. This is all to ensure that real people are surfing and is a great way to rest assured that these exchanges are good and your credits are being consumed by real humans …therefore real people are viewing the site/s you are advertising.
Paid memberships are also offered by most traffic exchanges next to
free membership. Usually with a paid membersip you gain some
privileges like allocation of credits per month and/or doubling your
credits and the credits you get out of your downline (people you
refer to the traffic exchanges). Credits also can be purchased from
traffic exchanges in case you don’t have time surfing. I recommend
you try the traffic exchange for free first before deciding on
upgrading to paid purchasing credits from it. Also most traffic
exchanges offer banner and text ad impressions which you can assign some credits to from your surfing.
Perhaps the most famous traffic exchange (for some reason) is
Traffic Swarm. I think it was the first traffic exchange to allow
members choose the categories of the sites they want to view,
therefore offering you targeted surfers. It is still voted the best
and fav traffic exchange. Traffic Syndicate 25 also has an
interesting syndicate concept…you don’t earn credits off your
downlines like with other traffic exchanges, but instead as a free
member you start out in the “Syndicate Pool” where you can surf for
credits. Throughout the week the top surfers from the syndicate pool
are chosen to form a syndicate in the “Syndacate Downline”. At this
point things get more interesting. At the end of the week you earn
credits from all the syndicates below you and the syndicates are
then re-arranged so that the top earners are higher up in the
syndicate downline. This gives you the opportunity to have a
downline with as many as 2500 people in it!
As you might have already guessed, the best way to earn credits and
to be successful with traffic exchanges is to build a downline. This
way you can keep the credits flowing in by letting your downline do
all the clicking for you. How do you decide which traffic exchanges
you have to join? You can simply do a search in google on traffic
exchanges and a lot of sites will appear for you to choose from.
However I recommend you using a service that enables you to
determine which are the best performing traffic exchanges throuhout
the week/month. I use Traffic Hoopla for this. Traffic Hoopla is a
company that provides you with a report to help you decide which
traffic exchanges to sign up with. This report is updated weekly
with the top 50 traffic exchanges (and safelists) and the top 10 new
traffic exchanges. You can find out from this report who delivers
the highest unique percentage of visitors and who will deliver
traffic to your website in a timely manner. This way you can sign up
with only the best. Also when advertising your traffic hoopla
referral link, you’d be advertising all of your traffic exchanges
that you’re registered with in traffic hoopla, as traffic hoopla
helps build your downline in all of them.
Another method to build your traffic effectively that has become
more popular these days, is to surf more than a traffic exchange
site at once (it’s worth surfing on at least 5 of them at the same
time).. How do you do that? Simple…You only need a browser that
makes it easy for you and provides tabs. The most secure and
recommended one is Mozilla Firefox. Just open
Firefox and click on -T to open a new tab, then go to the surfing
page for one of the traffic exchanges. Repeat this process until you
have at least 5 tabs open then go back and forth between each tab
earning credits as you go. Bookmark your tabs (first save the
surfing url of each traffic exchange as a tab) so that everytime you
open up your Mozilla Firefox browser, you only have to choose to
open the name you assigned your bookmark in tabs and voila…all
your traffic exchanges are opened in tabs ready for you to surf.
